MIR App

Western Fire Resources is proud to announce our Medical Incident Report app, which will soon be free to the wildland fire community and without ads. The intent of this app is to provide a way to streamline training on the MIR process and to provide a tool to generate concise and well-organized narratives to read over the radio during high-stress, fast-tempo medical incidents that occur on the fireline. This app will soon be available on the Google Play Store for Android devices. An iOS version is also planned for the future. We are currently seeking wildland firefighters interested in testing the app in the coming weeks. If you have an Android device and are interested in potentially becoming a tester, please reach out to me with your fire qualifications and experience with IWIs at dholdstock@westernfirellc.com. If you have an iOS device or would just like to preview the app, you can do so on this online emulator by clicking the button below. Either way, check out the “Random Scenarios” section below for scenarios to use in your MIR training.

Note: Some features may not work completely on the emulator, as the app will be running online, rather than being downloaded to your device. For instance, you may not be able to test the PDF functionality on your computer or your phone. GPS functionality should work on your phone, but you may need to do a work-around on your computer by typing in a user-defined GPS location.  The computer will likely allow you to type letters into numeric fields, whereas a phone will only present you with a numerical keyboard if the only valid entries are numbers, again making the phone a superior testing device.  All features are demonstrated on the video below.

Thanks for checking out the MIR app.  Please email any suggestions to dholdstock@westernfirellc.com.
