Derrick P. Holdstock, Owner
Derrick began his career as a wildlife biologist and managed wildlife habitat using prescribed fire beginning in 2001. His career transitioned to full time fire with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, eventually serving as the West Texas Regional Fire Coordinator for the Wildlife Division. Derrick also served several details with the US Forest Service on crews and engines, spent time on the contract side in both operations and planning functional areas, and was a founding member of the Adobe Walls Fire Module for the Borger Fire Department. His operational qualifications include Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT5), Engine Boss (ENGB), Firing Boss (FIRB), Prescribed Fire Burn Boss 3 (RXB3), and Basic Faller (FAL3).

Caleb is from Canadian, Texas, and is in his 5th season with Western Fire Resources. For his first 3 seasons, Caleb was our primary back-up, faithfully filling in for other firefighters whenever needed. He began his career with us. Caleb is currently a Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1) trainee.

Carlos is from Canadian, Texas, and is in his 6th season with Western Fire Resources. He began his career with us and has also responded to wildfires with Borger Fire Department’s Adobe Walls Wildland Fire Module. He was present on the company’s first ever assignment, to the Mangum Fire in 2020. Carlos is currently an Engine Operator (ENOP) trainee.

Joe is from Mountain Home, Idaho, and is in his 1st season with Western Fire Resources, coming to us from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, where he served as the Fire Management Officer (FMO) for the Ute Mountain Agency, as well as the Crow Agency. Joe is also qualified as a Crew Boss (CRWB), Firing Boss (FIRB), Heavy Equipment Boss (HEQB), Helicopter Manager (HMGB), Strike Team Leader Crew (STCR), Strike Team Leader Engine (STEN), Task Force Leader (TFLD), Division Supervisor (DIVS), Operations Section Chief Type 3 (OPS3), Safety Officer (SOFR), Incident Commander Type 3 (ICT3), Wildland Fire Investigator (INVF), Prescribed Fire Burn Boss 2 (RXB2), and Advanced Faller (FAL1).
